Orthodontics

Orthodontics is a branch of dentistry that specialises in moving and correctly repositioning the teeth. Orthodontic treatment gives excellent results when the teeth are correctly stabilised. Patient collaboration is an essential element of this treatment, since it can last for months or years, depending on the severity of the case.

For children and adults

Orthodontic treatment is not only cosmetic, but also improves overall oral health. A correct diagnosis is essential to treat the various types of malocclusion by analysing the different structures (bone, gums, temporomandibular joint …)

At Soma Dental Clinic, we offer orthodontic treatment for children, adolescents and adults.

Child orthodontics: Children should get their first dental check-up when they are 6 years old. This will allow the specialist to detect emerging problems and perform any preventive or corrective treatment required to prevent these from escalating in the future.

Juvenile orthodontics: From the age of 12, when all the permanent teeth are in place, the specialist can start to correct badly positioned teeth and achieve excellent results.

Adult orthodontics: Crowded or crooked teeth can be corrected at any age. New, virtually invisible methods are now available. One of these, “Invisalign”, uses transparent aligners to correct small imperfections in the position of the teeth. Invisalign allows our patients to perfect their smile without the need for unsightly braces.
